15-Year-Old Kills Family

    On Monday, October 21, 2024, a fifteen-year-old boy shot and killed his family in their home in Fall City, Washington. His name has not been released. His mother, Sarah Humiston, father, Mark Humiston, and younger siblings, Katheryn Humiston, Joshua Humiston, and Benjamin Humiston. An 11-year-old was injured but was able to get away by playing dead and then proceeding to run away to a neighbor's house. Originally a call was made by the fifteen-year-old to 911 around 5 a.m. accusing his brother, Benjamin, of killing his entire family, and he reasons that he got caught searching for explicit videos. That, of course, was not true. The eleven-year-old sister ran to a neighbor’s house, where they called 911 and told the truth. Later on, the cops arrived at the house, detained the fifteen-year-old, and found the bodies within the home. The eleven-year-old was taken to the hospital and treated for the injuries she suffered. She has since been released, and the defendant has been taken to court. He is being tried for five counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder. Currently, he is being held in a juvenile detention center until the final decision is made. This criminal act brings up questions like why people do this. What makes killers snap?
