Christmas

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Christmas is the most magical time of year, and along with Christmas come many fun activities and traditions. Most families have certain traditions that they will do each year when Christmas comes around; there are a few however that are more common than others. The first tradition commonly seen is going to see Santa. Families will get all dressed up and head to go see Santa, usually, they will go to their local mall, and kids can sit on his lap and tell him what they would like for Christmas. Typically they will have the option to get a photo with Santa, this can be just the kids or the whole family. This is a special event for children because it helps keep the Christmas magic alive. The second tradition most families partake in is making Christmas cookies. Almost every child knows that on Christmas Eve you leave cookies and milk out for Santa to enjoy when he stops by your house to deliver gifts. Sugar cookies are probably the most popular and they are the best to decorate. Families will use fun cookie cutters to cut out different Christmas shapes and then decorate them will different colors of icing and sprinkles. Kids will select what they think are the perfect cookies for Santa and leave them out by their Christmas tree until he arrives. The third and final tradition is Christmas plays. Churches will put on an annual Christmas play where kids throughout the church will act out the nativity scene. This is a very important tradition because it reminds everyone that even though we may look forward to other things during Christmas none of it would happen without the birth of Jesus Christ. These are just some of the dozens of traditions families may participate in during the holidays, however, it's important to remember that the real reason we celebrate is to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
