━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Christmas is a very exciting time of the year. Christmas trees, lights, hot chocolate, and a lot more festive activities. Christmas in New York is renowned for how much the city transforms for holiday festivities. Every year, there is the famous Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, it is usually a Norway spruce tree 69 to 100 feet tall, which has been a tradition each year since 1933. This year, November 30th was the annual lighting ceremony. This is a very famous event that many people want to attend, where Rockefeller Center is transformed into a Christmas wonderland. There is ice skating under the tree, which is always a favorite. 5th Avenue is covered with holiday decorations as well. The main attraction on 5th Avenue, however, is the Saks Fifth Avenue light show. The store is covered with lights and plays Christmas music regularly once the sun goes down. At Lincoln Center, there is the famous Nutcracker Ballet. This is a holiday tradition with many surprises and amazing costumes. Another tradition, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the Radio City Rockettes. These high-kicking Rockettes train all year for this show, and it is a must-see holiday celebration. Every year in Bryant Park, there is an open-air market with over 120 shops. Jewelry, hand-made crafts, winter hats and gloves, cards, pictures, ornaments, and specialty foods are just a few of the goods that are offered. In Central Park, there are regular carriage rides throughout the day and after dark. These rides are peaceful and really get you in the holiday spirit. Christmas is a magical time; however, Christmas in New York is even more magical.
