Christmas is a wonderful time to spend with family and friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Many families have specific traditions they do during the Christmas season. Here are a few of the most popular ones. The first tradition seen during the holiday season is Christmas plays. Normally, they reenact when Jesus was born. Almost all churches have an annual Christmas play and the kids at the church dress up and act out the characters. The second most popular tradition is a Christmas gift exchange. Multiple holiday parties happen around Christmas and most of them hold a gift exchange. Typically, every guest brings a gift with an allotted amount spent on it and they exchange or play a game to receive another gift. This tradition is good for people of all ages. The third biggest tradition is baking Christmas cookies. This is a fun tradition to do with your family regardless of what age you are. Normally, people bake sugar cookies and decorate them with icing, sprinkles, chocolate chips, and whatever else they choose. The final, and probably the most popular tradition, is preparing for Santa. This tradition is usually seen within families that have younger children. Typically, they will leave their Christmas lists out for Santa, and leave cookies and milk for him. Some families even take care of the reindeer and leave oats or carrots out for them. Kids are eager to get to bed early and get up early to see what presents Santa brought. While there are many other traditions that families do, these are the ones that are most commonly seen today. Christmas is the best time of year to make memorable traditions with your family.
