Colin Powell Dead At 84

By Cecilia Stewart

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Colin Luther Powell died on October 18th, 2021 at the age of 84. Colin was a four-star general, a veteran of the Vietnam war, and the former United States Secretary of State from 2001-2005. Powell’s family stated that he was fully vaccinated against covid-19, but sadly, he died from covid complications while battling myeloma.

Powell’s goal was to help this country shape and change our military forever with the Powell Doctrine. The Powell Doctrine came to be as a result of the Vietnam War stating that if we have another bombing war it must be overpowering. Following this doctrine has and will continue to save American lives. Powell also helped anyone serve in the army no matter what gender you like, same or different. Outside of Powell’s military and work-life, it was pretty normal. He and his wife, Alma, had been married since 1962. They had three children: Linda Powell, Annemarie Powell, and Michael Powell . Powell had only one sibling Marylin Burns, who sadly died on August 17th in 2016. There have been 18 books about his life. We thank Colin Powell for his service, for making our country better and for inspiring young souls.
