On Halloween night, kids trick or treat all around subdivisions. What most people don’t think about is the food that people eat who don’t trick or treat. There are many different foods you can make to celebrate Halloween. You can divide the recipes up to different people in your house or friends and have each person make one or two. I’ve gathered recipes for apple bread, caramel corn, mini spider pizzas, and strawberry ghosts to share with you. These are just a few fun, ghouly ideas for you.
Apple Bread
2 cups Diced Apple (2 small or 1 large)
1/2 cup Brown Sugar, 2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups Bob’s Red Mill 1 to 1 Flour
3/4 cup Sugar, 1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt
1 Egg
1 cup Milk
1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar,
Additional large crystal sugar for sprinkling on top
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; mix well.
Next add the egg, milk, and apple cider vinegar to the dry mixture. Whisk just until combined.
Scoop a little batter into the bottom of the prepared loaf pan (or pans if using the small pans).
Distribute some apples, then sprinkle a little of the brown sugar on top of the apples and repeat ending in the batter.
Evenly sprinkle the loaf with coarse sugar.
Bake for 35-40 minutes for mini loaves, 50-60 minutes for a large loaf, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean with a little bit of gooeyness on it.

1 t. balsamic vinegar
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 can large California Black Ripe Olives

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
Roll out the pizza dough and use a 3 inch round cookie cutter to cut out the mini pizzas.
Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl whisk together all of the pizza sauce ingredients, then spread a little bit of sauce on top of each mini pizza.
Top the pizzas with the shredded mozzarella then place in the oven to bake for about 8 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
Remove the mini pizzas from the oven and arrange the olives on top of them creating the spiders.

Strawberry Ghosts
Whole strawberries
Bag of White Chocolate melts
1 cup of Milk Chocolate melts
Melt white chocolate melts in a double boiler or a microwave-safe bowl by following the directions on the back of the package. In a small bowl do the same thing with the milk chocolate.
Wash and dry the strawberries and then dip them. Place them on a sheet of parchment paper. Before you place them make a little tail before you place the dipped strawberry down to create the ghost. Continue with all the strawberries and let them dry.
Put the milk chocolate in a piping bag with a small circle tip. (or you can place in a Ziploc bag and cut a tiny slit in the corner of the bag)
Pipe 2 circle eyes and an oval mouth on each strawberry to create the white chocolate strawberry ghost.
