On September 11, 2021, Gabby Petito was reported missing by her family to the police in North Port, Florida. She disappeared in the western United States when she and her fiance Brian Laundrie took a vacation. Brian returned home to North Port on September 1; however, he was without Gabby. This made people start questioning Brian on his return without her but he would not say a word. The reporters began leaking taped footage from the police on their trip of the police officer saying they had to be separated for the night and handed Gabby the keys to the van. They would not tell her where he was going to be located. According to the police on their trip, Gabby was assaulting Brian but there was a witness who had called the police station in a recording, stating they had driven by one day and saw Brian hitting Gabby, and then they proceeded to get in their van and drive away. During this investigation of locating Gabby, Brian decides to hide from the police which makes him look very guilty, and is currently still being found for further questioning. On Sunday, September 19th, a body was discovered in Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. They, later on, did an autopsy and discovered the body was yet Gabby Petito and it shows it was a homicide. The FBI has gotten involved and they are still trying to give her justice and find who was to blame for the death of Gabby.
