Jack Johnson: In Between Dreams Album Review

Jack Johnson is known for his upbeat mellow music style. His second most-played song on Spotify, “Upside Down”, can be found in the animated film Curious George, which is how I first discovered Johnson. However, it wasn't until my junior year of high school that I began to explore more of his music. The album In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson was released on March 1st, 2005. It is his third studio album and is composed of 14 songs. Here are some of my favorite songs!

“Better Together”

Rating: 8.5/10

Johnson starts his album off with a soft catchy song titled “Better Together”. The song was released as a single in 2006 and is currently his most streamed song. Although I find the song slightly predictable, I still think it is very lovely. My favorite lyric is “Love is the answer, at least for most of the questions in my heart”.

“Never Know”

Rating: 8.7/10

This song conveys the idea that we are all just humans. It repeats the lyrics “We’re just human; Amazing, confusing”. I find this song to be incredibly beautiful and comforting. It carries out a good beat and an even better meaning.

“Banana Pancakes"

Rating:  9/10

I love this song. It encompasses the simple art of spending time with loved ones.
