Keyboard “Hacks” For Students

Are you looking to make your school work on the Chromebook easier? There are some simple keyboard shortcuts you can use to simplify your work. Keyboard shortcuts are generally used to quicken common operations by only pressing two or three keys rather than clicking multiple buttons, hence the term "shortcut". These keyboard shortcuts require you to press the sequence of keys at the same time. Here are some very useful ones I use on a daily basis.


Close Tab: Ctrl + W

Open New Tab: Ctrl + T

Reopen Closed Tab: Ctrl + Shift + T

Move to Next Tab: Ctrl + Tab

Caps Lock: Alt + Search

Print: Ctrl + P

Select All: Ctrl + A

Copy: Ctrl + C

Paste: Ctrl + Shift + V

Undo: Ctrl + Z

Redo: Ctrl + Shift + Z

Bold: Ctrl + B

Italicize: Ctrl + I

Underline: Ctrl + U

Increase Font Size: Ctrl + Shift + .

Decrease Font Size: Ctrl + Shift + ,

Zoom In: Ctrl + +

Zoom Out: Ctrl + -
