Local Food Truck Parks

Mackenzie Ault

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I have noticed lately that Knoxville has some excellent food trucks and cafe spots. For example, Hey Bear Cafe. Hey Bear Cafe is a little cafe located on Middlebrook Pike and has many different varieties of food trucks throughout the week. Hey Bear itself is a boba tea and snack cafe but has a seating area, a playset, food trucks, a sandbox, and even music behind the cafe. Their calendar is available online and shows what food trucks go through for that month. The comforting setting with an array of trees and picnic tables makes it the perfect place for the fall season. They only have two or three food trucks a day, but they rotate throughout the month.

Another food truck spot is Creekside, located on Malone Clark Drive, and unlike Hey Bear, it has around six food trucks daily. They do have a bit of a strange schedule, though. Their park is closed on Mondays, and on Thursdays through Sundays it opens at 11:30. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it opens at 4:30. This food truck spot has a large seating area, six or so daily food trucks with a variety of foods, fire pits with a TV overhead, and a bar area. Creekside has its own food truck with sandwiches and ice cream, along with other trucks containing different kinds of foods. This includes a snack truck that has the type of food you would pick up at a gas station. These places are perfect places to go to have something to do with your friends during the fall season.
