McDonald’s Plans To Drastically Change The Happy Meal

By: Kenny Thurman

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We all know the Happy Meal. The joy of pulling up to the drive-thru and getting that red and yellow box is something we've all experienced. The best part was always the anticipation of seeing which toy you got. Whether it was a doll, a plastic truck, or an action figure we all loved the cheap plastic toys. But all good things must come to an end. In an effort to combat climate change and reduce their plastic usage, McDonald's plans to have all soft toys (such as cardboard foldable or stuffed animals) by 2025 and recycle the plastic from the old toys to make more sustainable restaurant trays. This move can reduce their new plastic use by 90%. The change has already started in Europe as they have made this move in the U.K. and Ireland.
