Memaw’s Party Mix has been in our family for many years and is still being made to this day!
This party mix is not just any party mix you buy in stores, and no one can even make it but my Memaw. If you would like to try to make the party mix, here is the recipe below.
Ingredients:
8 cups of Crispix cereal
1 cup pretzels
1 cup peanuts
1 ½ sticks of butter (not margarine)
6 tablespoons French’s Worcestershire sauce
Lawry’s garlic salt to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 250. Mix cereal, pretzels, and peanuts together. Put butter in a 13x9x2 pan and place the pan in the oven until the butter has melted. Once melted, remove the pan from the oven and add Worcestershire sauce. Add and stir the cereal mixture thoroughly until coated with the melted butter mixture. Sprinkle with Lawry's garlic salt. Put in the oven and stir every 15 minutes. After one hour, remove from the oven and spread on paper towels to cool completely.
When my Memaw makes this party mix, we usually get lucky and get it for our birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. Getting a batch of this party mix is an honor because she doesn't make it that often. After all, it takes an hour for each batch. Maybe one day you, your family, and friends can make this delightful treat and see how delicious it is. Enjoy!
