Here at Powell, you have probably seen many teachers wearing a shirt saying Meraki.
Cisco Meraki is a cloud-managed IT company headquartered in San Francisco, California. But no, I’m not talking about that Meraki. Meraki is a modern Greek word meaning “doing something with soul, love, and creativity.” Here at Powell, we do things with Meraki. We put our heart and soul into our work so in the future there will be happiness. Meraki is that feeling of being proud of what you did because you know you did all you could and it leaves you with a sense of accomplishment. It’s leaving a piece of yourself into everything you do.
Dr. Smith is changing our school with Meraki. He puts so much love into it and he is making our education better. Mr. Thompson teaches his students with creativity and soul which makes it fun to learn about the physical world going on around us. Mrs. Garcia promotes the word Meraki because she wants her students to feel that they belong and to put effort into what they do. Every student, teacher, principal, office worker, and guidance counselor here is a great example of how to apply Meraki to your day.
ohh i wondered what those shirts meant
