Schools across the country participate in the tradition of seniors painting their parking spots. Not only does it boost school spirit and student morale, but it also offers a creative outlet where students can showcase their abilities. However, for the students at Powell High School, the parking places have been just a place where students may keep their cars during school hours. Why keep these spots limited when they can be so much more? Something as ordinary as parking spots can be transformed into pieces of art where each student has the opportunity to tell their very own unique story. This brings into question how to make this dream a reality. Students every year are already responsible for purchasing a parking pass, so why not make specially assigned passes for the seniors who wish to paint their spot? These seniors would receive a reserved parking space that they may personalize throughout the year. This activity would be a way to get the senior class together and commemorate their time together, such as things like Senior Sunrise/Sunset. These student activities not only give underclassmen something to look forward to but also give seniors motivation to push through their final year of high school. Creating personalized parking spaces is a fantastic way to foster school spirit and forge new relationships. Students can express their creativity and originality by painting their own parking spaces that benefit seniors by providing them a reserved spot, while also enhancing the campus' appearance.
