Powell Vs. Central Girls Soccer

On October 11th, your Lady Panthers hosted the District Semi-Finals match-up against Central High School. The winner of this game goes on to the District Championship to play West High School. Powell comes out strong, ready to win, with a final score of 3-0. The Panthers have many opportunities to take shots, but they don’t get one until exactly 33 minutes into the game. The ball hits the ground in the mid-field, and Royce Russel quickly gains possession and control over it. She passes the ball to Abigail Reiche, where a central player takes a missed touch, causing the ball to go directly into Ciarrah Turner's feet. She then plays a great pass to Annabel Reiche, who connects a quick one-two to Hana Kirsch. She dribbles up the field, having great control until she takes the shot just outside the 18, and the shot hits the top of the net. A great goal by Hana Kirsch, making the score 1-0. Powell's defense stayed strong and composed the whole game, with the defense line consisting of Kaydence Weinhandl, Royce Russel, Ciarrah Turner, and Makhira Ralston. Another shutout from Ella Smith. Just a few minutes into the 2nd half, the Panthers pushed through with another goal. Centeral punt the ball down the field, where Royce Russels gets good height on the player in front of her to win the 50/50 header in the air, then Hana Kirsh gets another header to Annabel Reiche in the mid-field where she plays a volley toward Grayce Barnes. She flicks the ball around the defender straight to Annabel Reiche, who is making a perfect run. She dribbles till she is just outside the 18, outrunning all the defenders, and takes the shot which goes right over the keeper and into the goal, Panther 2 Central 0. Powell's third goal of the game started with a throw-in from Kaydence Weinhandl to Hana Kirsch. Hana heads the ball over the defender on her back to the outside where Grayce plays it to Annabell. The defender takes the ball but Annabel wins it back, passing it into the box to Hana Kirsch. She sets the shot up and it goes straight into the back corner of the net. Your Lady Panthers won the District Semi-Finals against Central with a final score of 3-0.
