Queen Elizabeth II: 1926-2022

The morning of September 8th, 2022 the public was notified that the Queen of England was under close medical supervision. Several hours later it was announced she had passed away. The Queen's doctors had been concerned about her health and had been flying in to be by her side and to help her with any needs. The Queen's family came in to help as well as Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, her grandson Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.

Queen Elizabeth II had been queen for 70 years and 127 days. Queen Elizabeth II passed around 1 pm Thursday, September 8th, 2022. She was born on April 2, 1926. Her death brings a close to her reign that spanned seven decades and made her the most recognized woman in the world. The queen was also known as the Britians Beacon of stability. A quote from sky news was “Losing the queen was like losing a good friend you've known forever … Queen Elizabeth has built a special relationship with us all and is a symbol of the best of us.” There is alot of grief across the nation because everyone lost something very special to them. They lost their beloved Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II was the eighth Queen of England. Perhaps one of the best known queens before Elizabeth II was Mary I, she was referred to as “Bloody Mary” by those she ruled over. She was born on February 18, 1516, in Greenwich, near London, England—died on November 17, 1558, in London.

Elizabeth II personified her people and gave such love and comfort to her palace. Thousands of people gather in Buckingham palace to reflect upon and share memories of their sweet queen. When her people heard she wasn't feeling well they all gathered to do what they could to comfort the queen.

The next in line to assume the throne is Prince Charles. Prince Charles is the oldest son of Queen Elizabeth. He will remain king until he resigns or passes away. As of September 8, 2022, the royal family still stands with their roles and responsibilities. The Queen's achievements are being the oldest queen, longest reigning monarch, and the longest royal marriage.
