Spotify Wrapped is an individualized slideshow and playlist showcasing a listener’s top artists, genres, songs, and other data points collected from January 1st through November 28th. Many people seem to believe that the app only tracks your listening between Jan. 1 and October 31, but this is untrue. Spotify has ensured users that the rumor is false, having recently shared a Halloween graphic on X (Twitter) of a candy-filled jack-o'-lantern and a message that reads: "Spotify Wrapped doesn't stop counting on October 31st." This year's Spotify Wrapped was released at around 6 a.m. EST on Wednesday, Dec. 4th, which is 5 days later than the Nov. 29 launch last year. With the anticipation building for almost a week longer than usual, many users are more excited than ever to see their results.
First, Spotify tells you how many minutes you listened to this year.
Then, it tells you how many songs you played and provides data about your top 5 songs.
I played 2,143 songs in 2024, and my top song was “Get Rhythm” by Johnny Cash, with 270 total streams.

A new statistic this year was your “2024 Music Evolution”. It selects 3 months out of the year and how your listening evolved.
In March, my music style was “Wild West Banjo Outlaw Country”. I listened to artists like Johnny Cash and Colter Wall.
In June, my music style was “Vintage Hollywood Slow Dance Big Band”. I listened to artists like Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, and Dean Martin.

Then, Spotify tells users their top 5 artists. Mine were:

Then, at the end of the slideshow, Spotify features different versions of summary images of your Spotify Wrapped that you can send to your friends.
This year, Spotify also included features outside of the Wrapped slideshow. This contains your Wrapped AI podcast, 2024 in Audiobooks, and two playlists; Your Top Songs 2024 and Your Music Evolution 2024. The Spotify DJ also has the option this year to give you a personal tour of your listening throughout the year.
This year's Spotify Wrapped utilized impressive graphics, leaving a strong impression on Spotify users. There were not as many new components as in previous years, and interactive content was not particularly noteworthy, but it was still entertaining, nonetheless. I eagerly look forward to seeing if they can surpass this in the upcoming year.
