This past week my fellow writers and I were asked to interview a student and teacher of our choice. For the student, I chose sophomore Kateryn Mata. She is fifteen years old and has four family members: her dad, mom, older brother, and younger sister. She has lived in Powell for almost all her life and went to Northwest Middle School. She has loved her high school experience so far and her favorite class so far is Intro to Human Studies, she also plays soccer for the girl’s soccer team and has been playing soccer for six years.
After high school, she said she wanted to go to college to get her degree to become a nurse or an orthodontist. Every student wants to give at least one piece of advice to a teacher in their school. Kateryn’s advice is that teachers should make learning more interesting and fun for the students so that the students can actually enjoy learning. Lastly, some advice she has for students is to take school seriously even if they are not going to go to college.
