Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Thompson

I´ve been thinking that it is about time to recognize some of the teachers at Powell High School. Mr. Thompson has been teaching for 7 years and he first started teaching at Powell High School.

He teaches chemistry, physics, and physical science. His favorite subject to teach is Physics. Physics is his favorite because, “it gives an insight to the basic understanding of everything.” He attended graduate school for 3 years and college for 4 years resulting in him getting a Bachelor's Degree, B.S in Biochemistry, and a M.S in Science Education. Teaching wasn’t his first option, he was debating between a doctor, research scientist, and a teacher. He had the opportunity to teach during graduate school and really enjoyed it therefore choosing it as his profession.

Mr. Thompson spends his free time playing video games, but secretly he is really good at baking. His favorite things to bake are chocolate chip cookies and sour dough bread. In my opinion, he makes some killer brownies.
