Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Berry

My Newspaper class was instructed to conduct an interview with a teacher of our choice. I chose Mrs.Berry because she is always so fun, kind, and funny. During this interview, we had to ask questions and find out things we didn’t know about our teacher. We started off talking about school. Mrs. Berry’s favorite thing about Powell? The students. She teaches Family Studies classes and enjoys it because,” We are all incredible beings. It's absolutely amazing how we grow and develop from conception to death.” You can tell she really does love what she teaches because each day she is excited to talk about new topics.

Outside of school, she stays very busy with her family; she has been married to her husband for 25 years, and they have three children. Some of the activities she enjoys doing are gardening, helping her mother, sleeping, and being with her family. When asked about a positive experience that has stood out to her in her career she said,'' We had a phenomenal experience last year in Family Studies taking the Industry Certification and CLEP. I was SOOOOO proud of the students!” As you can tell, she really just wants the best for her students and will support them every step of the way. Mrs. Berry is an amazing teacher at Powell High School, and if you get the chance to take a class with her, I recommend doing it.
