Coming into week two of college football, Texas had to face off against number-one-ranked Alabama. It's always scary to play against Alabama, including Nick Saban, but Texas showed up. In most teams that Alabama play, they blow them out and it's not even a close score. Yet, for some reason, this game was different. Alabama got on the scoreboard first with a 52-yard field goal attempt, making the score 3-0. Texas fought and kept up with the Alabama defense and scored a field goal to tie the game. Alabama then had a long 85-yard run by Jase Mcclellan for a touchdown. With the extra point, the score was then 10-3. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers suffered an upper-body injury as he got tackled. In the next play, Bijan Robinson scored a rushing touchdown for Texas, tieing the game. Texas defense turned it up during the second quarter, working to get the ball back in the hands of Hudson Card. They were hoping to score again before halftime. Texas gets in the red zone but misses the 20-yard field goal, leaving the score at 10-10 when it became halftime. In the third quarter, Alabama had the ball on the 1-yard line, which resulted in a controversial call by the refs. Quarterback Bryce Young got sacked in the endzone in what should have been a safety, but the refs called roughing the passer, which gave Alabama the ball back. Alabama didn't score, so Texas gets the ball back and scores a field goal, making the score 13-10. Texas drove down again and scored another field goal. At this point in the game, one starts to wonder if unranked Texas is going to take down the Number 1, Alabama. Alabama then scores a touchdown, giving the ball back to Texas. They score a field goal and get the lead back 19-16. Alabama drives down and scores a field goal to win the game. This made many football fans sad about what difference that missed field goal by Texas could have made for them.
