The 9/11 Museum & Memorial

By: Aiesha Patel

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

9/11 was the most tragic day in 2001 in the United States. A recap is that on the 11th of September, 4 planes were hijacked by an Islamic group called Al Qaeda. Two of the planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the world trade center in New York City. Another plane crashed into one of the parts of the Pentagon. The last plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Many lives were lost on this day. Today in New York City, there is a Museum and Memorial of all the people that died that day. This is located where the two twin buildings were. If you would like to visit, here is some information to know. This memorial is at 180 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10007. The memorial is open 7 days a week, but you have to order your tickets in advance. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This museum tells you about all the personal stories, exhibits, and more and it shows all the names of the people that lost their lives that day. You can see a timeline of what happened, people’s stories about when they saw this tragedy, and you can hear some of our hero’s tell us their stories about what happened and how they felt. This museum also has a store where you can buy souvenirs. I think we should visit this memorial because many people have lost their lives and never had a chance to live their full one. This is what the museum of 9/11 is all about and why you should go visit.
