Many people love The Front Porch, and after seven and a half years, they are closing due to circumstances beyond their control. The Front Porch has been a fan favorite for so long, and no one wants to see it leave. It is a place that has helped build Powell into its current beautiful city. The Elkins family bought the house in 2013 and restored it in honor of its historical significance to Powell. The house was built in the 1910s and helped the development of Powell, Tennessee, starting with a lumber company.
The Front Porch is located in the historic Powell Station. It was a restaurant with a country home theme with delicious home-cooked meals. The prices of food varied from nine dollars and above. The most popular meal on the menu was fried bologna, over easy eggs, lettuce, tomato, and onion with a sriracha aioli. They served lunch and early dinner along with selling southern-style home decor, being no more than twenty dollars. They are currently selling some of their antiques to the public while closing. According to the owner, The Front Porch closed about a month ago, back in July, and the Saturday of 9/3/22 will be the two-month mark of when they closed.
