The Rules Of Soccer

Anna Mata Sanchez

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Many people don't know about soccer because it is not as popular as other sports in many countries. I feel that more people should know more about soccer. It is a really fun sport because you get to work as a team, go to different places, and get to know your positions. In soccer, there are only 11 players on the field. On the field, there is a keeper, defenders, midfielders, and strikers. The keeper is the only one touching, catching, and stopping the ball. The defenders always defend the goal and help the midfielders. The midfielders help the defenders and the strikers score goals. The strikers are on the other side of the field scoring the goals. They also help the midfielder and defender defend the goal. Soccer has 3 referees; there is one on each side and one on the field. They make sure you don't get injured and if you have any problems. They will also check if you are offside or if you're being too aggressive towards other players. If you are too aggressive, the referees will tell you to calm down. If you still don't listen, you will get a yellow card meaning you have to get off the field for 2 minutes. If you get another yellow card in the same game, it will be the same as getting a red card. A red card means you will not be able to play the rest of the game. The most important part of soccer is to talk to your teammates and understand each other and also to have fun.
