Top 4 Seniors At Powell!

Savannah Kerns

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Sports teams create the best friendships helping you grow more confident on and off the field. They invite you to grow as a person, as a friend, and as a player. You grow up a lot of the time playing with the same people that you have played with since you were playing little league, and those memories will never leave you. Seniors often think leaving their team is the worst thing that can happen. It is like leaving their family. These friends have watched them develop. Think about it this way, you did it with the best group of people, and you're off to do bigger things, you did it not just for yourself but you did it for them. September 27th was Senior Night for your Lady Panthers soccer team against Central High School, with our four incredible seniors that everyone loved so much; here's a little something from each of them about their high school experience.

Annabel Reiche #2: “Being a senior this year has been a truly amazing experience. Being able to help others has pushed me to work hard. One thing I will always remember from my last four years was when I scored two goals in my sophomore year to beat Oakridge in the district tournament. I will always love this team and go panthers.”

Hana Kirsch #4: “Whenever I think about the fact I'm a senior in high school and this was my last year of high school soccer is mindblowing. They say that time flies when you are having fun but I didn't want it to fly by this fast. I've learned many life lessons and grown close to many different girls. I played with Chloe Ashley, another senior on the team since I was 4 years old and the end of high school soccer is an end to a huge chapter in my life. This senior year I did my best to be a leading figure on the team in hopes of someone taking over when I'm gone. Sad to say I'm gone next year but my panthers got this.”

Chloe Ashley #2: “ Being a senior on the soccer team was always a challenge, but for me, it has been the best year but also a sad one. Being a leader on the soccer team was difficult but not impossible. I think the best part about it was being able to help out the underclassmen on the team. The best memories I made in the past four years would be going to the Sub-State during my freshman year and all the bus rides. Singing, Dancing, and doing karaoke with everyone involved is the best feeling. The part I miss the most is being around my teamwimates every day and playing soccer. I give my thanks to Powell Soccer for the past four amazing years.”

Hope Taylor #17: “Senior year has put me in positions to grow and to take my time in life. I made many friendships playing soccer that wouldn't have been available to me otherwise. I am reminded as it was my last year, that time moves forward even if you aren't ready. Cherishing every serious or funny moment with teammates and coaches is something I will be able to look back and smile about.”

I've been playing with these four girls since 6th grade and they have grown so much. They are the kindest, sweetest, funniest, most talented, and best people ever. I know that all of you will go on to do great things, and I couldn't imagine learning and growing with anyone else, you'll always be a part of the Lady Panthers, and good luck.
