For many years, the women's national soccer team has fought for equal pay and treatment. They've shown the world who they are by winning World Cup after World Cup and other important competitions year after year. Yet, they still received much less pay than the least successful players in other sports. The team filed a lawsuit against the U.S soccer federation at the beginning of this year and had their pay raised by some, but they were not satisfied with this. Last Tuesday, the U.S. soccer federation allowed them to sign a new contract that would finally give the U.S. women's soccer team what they have been fighting for almost 3 years now. This includes the same money price for winning an upcoming World Cup that will double as the 2023 World Cup approaches. This took a lot of courage for these women to speak out and claim what was rightfully earned. This agreement has had an impact on numerous female athletes around the world as gender inequalities have improved dramatically.
