What Christmas Means To Me

By Jaymeson Clark

What Christmas means to me is different from what many other people may think it means, but here is what I think it truly means. It is a time for forgiveness. We all need that time to ask for forgiveness for our sins and past events. Christmas is when you not only open gifts, but you spend time with family that you may or may not get to see very often. Spending time with family is the most important thing to do during the holidays because our lives don't last forever, and it's important to cherish every moment and create memories that will last forever. To me, creating traditions is the perfect thing to do throughout the holidays. Traditions can last forever and can be passed down through all the different generations in a family. Christmas is also the season for giving. Christmas became a time to receive gifts and I believe that everyone should take time during the holiday season to give to families and children. I personally believe that giving is more memorable than sitting in a warm home with my family and opening presents when I know there are families out there waking up on Christmas morning without anything under their tree - if they even have a tree. When or if you receive a gift this season, don't be disappointed over how big or small the gift is, it's the thought that counts the most. You should always be thankful for what you've given, including the family members around you. Always be thankful for what you have. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
