I bet you have heard of Cinco de Mayo. You might ask, "Why do Mexicans celebrate Cinco de Mayo?". The Mexican culture celebrates Cinco de Mayo because they celebrate the battle against Puebla. In honor of the military, which did not consist of many soldiers, they celebrated the battle of Puebla in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III because they won the war. The Mexicans are not the only ones to celebrate May Day, which is another name for Cinco de Mayo. The USA also celebrates May Day. They celebrate with their family members and friends. This includes having a lot of food, drinks, and fireworks. Some Mexican restaurants celebrate Cinco de Mayo by having a special menu for their customers. I celebrate with my family and friends by eating tamales, gorditas, and tacos.
